Please attend to complaints by residents regarding:
The bad food: Too little protein, hardly any veggies, inedible dishes. The nutritional value is very low.

The stench of the refuse area near the gate where cockroaches and rats breed.

The noise by the guards at the entrance.

It's a beautiful estate BUT you do not listen to the residents!

My parents recently moved to Bergvallei Retirement Estate, after renting a two-bed unit through Esmerie Croft. From their first telephone call to her, enquiring about the estate, up until my visit last week from France, their experience has been outstanding. The facilities are excellent, the staff extremely friendly and helpful and they could not be more happy. I stayed with them for two weeks, and can attest to the wonderful atmosphere - it feels more like a vacation resort, than a retirement village. It is with peace of mind that I could return to France, knowing that they are well looked after and cared for. Thank you Esmerie, and all the staff at Bergvallei.

We got good assistance from Anneline from the day we first viewed the options at Bergvallei up to we bought a 2bed house. The facilities are as promised - very neat and maintained, with free access to the library, patio, cafe, restaurant and communal areas. Personnel are all very friendly and helpful so we could easily get the fingerprint access to the main gate, and to the restaurant, using an app that makes it very easy to book (and cancel). Residents are also friendly and content, with neighbours moving in gradually - greeting us and making friends. The hair salon was excellent and I look forward to visiting the beauty salon too. A Highlight was the Boeredans on 11 April - youngsters helped with the braai and the Estate provided cutlery, Pap and Sous, and music by the Ventertjies.

The only reason for not giving a 5 star rating, is the fact that the walking trail to the Bosveld area is still not available to residents. This is one of the main selling points that you keep advertising, and although we understand that some things take time we would really enjoy a section of the Reserve to be accessible as soon as possible. Some residents have been living here for 18 months and the park will only be opended by the end of 2025. A real pity.
